Dušan Stojnov was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia in 1957. He obtained his B.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia in 1981; his M.A. in Personality Psychology, from the University of Belgrade, in 1986; and his Ph. D. in Psychology, from the University of Belgrade, in 1992. His other professional qualifications include Diploma in Personal Construct Psychotherapy obtained by Centre for Personal Construct Psychology in London in 1990.
He worked as a clinical psychologist at the Institute for Addiction Recovery (1983-1989) at the Clinical Centre “Dr. Dragiša Mišović” in Belgrade. Additionally, he has worked as Personal Performance Consultants Clinical Affiliate since 1999. He is working as certified constructivist psychotherapist and coach since 1990.
He started his academic career in 1989 as an Assistant Professor at the Psychology Department of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, where he still teaches today as a tenured professor. As a researcher, he participated in various projects with the Institute of Criminology, Institute of Psychology and Institute for Educational Research.
Other positions of his professional engagement include lecturing at the Serbian Constructivist Association’s psychotherapy training program; Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute in Malta; Institute of Constructivist Psychology in Padua, Italy & University Stellenbosch in Cape Town, South Africa.
Dušan Stojnov has been lecturing since 1987. He has acted as a visiting lecturer, taught seminars, workshops and psychotherapy courses in many professional institutions in Yugoslavia / Serbia, Greece, Malta, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Czech Republic & South Africa.
He is firmly committed and devoted to constructivism, constructionism and relational approach to psychology of persons. His interest lies in reading personal construct psychology in a social constructionist key and establishing the links between PCP and the teachings of Foucault and Goffman. In his practical work, in addition to therapy, he is also involved with coaching, where he attempts to apply the principles of appreciating inquiry with the practices of Personal Construct Coaching and performative practice.
