The prime inspiration for those who participate in ECTN is to build connections and share ideas and resources to enrich our work. The Summer Schools, known as ‘Racconti Mediterranei’ (Tales of the Mediterranean) promote this goal, allowing teachers and students to exchange experiences and learn together in a “living” constructivist environment. The summer school will take place over a week, offering a programme of workshops and lectures, with time free for socialising, visits in the local area, and exchanging ideas and interests in informal ways.
This year’s event will be held in Oasi Santa Chiara, a lovely conference and retreat centre in Conegliano in the Veneto region of Italy.
Topics will include:
Hedgehog’s soft tummy: new techniques for eliciting core constructsled by Prof Dusan Stojnov
Can PCP change the world? : working on the big issuesled by Mary Frances
Open Space Technology – experiments in group-centred learningled by ICP teachers
Oblique strategies: using stochastic process in psychotherapyled by Prof Dusan Stojnov
Taught sessions run each day from 10.00 – 14.00, with afternoons free for relaxation and exploration. Evenings are available for a range of optional and student-led activities.
Conegliano is a cheerful and attractive historic town in wine-producing country close to the foothills of the Alps in the Veneto, northern Italy. The historic centre, on a hillside, is compact, and although the town has more recently sprawled over the plain below, it still retains a welcoming small-town feel. Conegliano (pronounced Conelyano) is a good location for a pleasant day out in Venice…
The price will be 300 euros per person. The price includes accommodation for the week in shared rooms, all meals, and all teaching activities.
The schools of constructivist psychotherapy in Belgrade and in Padua will be making arrangements for group travel for their students. Otherwise, travel is based on individual arrangements. The nearest airports are Venice or Treviso.

“RM3 was a wonderful opportunity for both experienced and incipient constructivist scientists to experiment and elaborate. It enabled us to broaden our knowledge of the theory and techniques as well as to meet other fellow constructivists and understand their experience and their stories”
“What gives RM that pleasant and “sparkling” atmosphere is the social factor. At the beginning one can see early distrust, shyness and groups made up of familiar colleagues, but RM brings us together. There is always a person near you with whom you can share a thought, a joke, a feeling. Raising the glass during the farewell party makes you feel happy because you know that you have met wonderful people and experienced a magical atmosphere, but, at the same time, it makes you feel a bit melancholic because you know that everybody will miss you and you will miss them…”
We hope you will join us in May!
